Threaded Inserts Manufactured In The UK
Threaded inserts provide a strong, reliable threaded fixing in materials that may not be suitable for direct tapping, including plastics, composites, fibreglass, timber and other softer substrates.
Manufactured from high-quality 316 stainless steel, 303 stainless steel or brass, our self-tapping inserts are designed to create durable internal threads that resist wear, corrosion and repeated assembly, making them ideal for demanding engineering, marine and industrial applications.

Threaded Insert FAQs:
A threaded insert is a fastening component designed to create a strong, durable internal thread in materials that may not be suitable for direct tapping. Threaded inserts improve thread strength, allow repeated assembly and disassembly, and can be used in plastics, composites, timber, GRP and other softer materials.
Threaded inserts can be installed into a wide range of materials, including plastics, nylon, acetal, ABS, timber, plywood, MDF, fibreglass, GRP, carbon fibre composites and other engineered materials. The most suitable insert type will depend on the material, load requirements and application.
Blind threaded inserts have a closed end, preventing fasteners from passing completely through the insert. They are often used where sealing or a controlled fastening depth is required. Through-tapped inserts are threaded all the way through, allowing bolts or screws to pass completely through the insert for maximum flexibility.
Yes. Our threaded inserts are manufactured from 316 stainless steel, offering excellent corrosion resistance in marine, offshore and outdoor environments. This makes them suitable for use in boats, marine equipment, coastal installations and other applications exposed to moisture and saltwater.
Yes. Threaded inserts are commonly used to repair worn, damaged or stripped threads. Once installed, they create a new, durable threaded fixing point, often restoring or improving the strength of the original thread.
Yes. In addition to our standard range, we manufacture bespoke threaded inserts to customer drawings and specifications. We can produce custom dimensions, thread sizes, lengths and design features to suit specialist applications and volume production requirements.
We manufacture threaded inserts in a range of metric thread sizes, including common options such as M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, M10 and M12. We can also manufacture threaded inserts in imperial sizes and with UNF threads. Please contact our team to discuss your requirements.
Self-tapping inserts are designed to cut their own thread into the parent material during installation. The insert is driven into a pre-prepared hole using the appropriate installation tool, creating a secure and reliable threaded fixing without the need for separate tapping operations.
