Our manufacturing capabilities
We can turn components from 1mm to 20mm diameter. We operate Citizen sliding head lathe machines from our manufacturing facility centrally located in Northamptonshire.
We can manufacture any volume of components and have worked with product designers to produce prototype parts for testing, through to high-volume runs of parts which can be scheduled and called off from stock.

From inserts to dowel pins - we’ve got you covered
We specialise in the manufacture of bespoke components to customer drawings. We’re also proficient in producing parts with male and female threads in either metric or imperial sizes.
Our CNC machinery can produce milled forms, steps, tapers, cross drilled, cross tapped, radiused, bored and hex-broached components.
We offer fast turnaround, be it a short prototype run of parts or a large batch run. We’re pretty flexible, and if your project requires working through the night to get the job done—that’s what we’ll do!
We’re enthusiastic about what we do and want to be more than just a supplier, we’re genuinely interested in what you do and strive to exceed expectations at every level.
Unlike many of our competitors, there are no complicated discounts or shipping charges. We quote a fair competitive price, without any smoke and mirrors. We believe it’s important to be upfront and straightforward with you.
It’s more than a job—it’s a passion! We’ve more than 18 years’ experience in sliding head CNC machining, with a particular fondness for the marine industry!

Materials we work with
Stainless Steel A1 (303) • Stainless Steel A2 (304) • Marine-Grade Stainless Steel A4 (316) • Mild Steel • High Tensile Steels • Brass • Plastics • Aluminium • Exotic Materials
The extensive CNC services we offer
We operate Star SR20 RIII and Citizen L20 sliding head CNC 5-axis machinery with 6 forming tools, 4 live cross tools, 6 front and back working tools, live face tooling, main and sub spindle indexing and C axis. Our machinery is equipped with Iemca automatic bar loaders. We also have vibratory finishing equipment to ensure all products are de-oiled and presented to an exceptionally high standard.
We’ve many established successful working partnerships, which enable us to offer a comprehensive manufacturing service at a competitive price. We can offer high volume precision turned components down to 0.3mm and low volume turned components up to 300mm diameter. We have access to Bridgeport and XYZ 4 axis vertical milling centres, Takisawa CNC lathes and Colchester manual and CNC lathes— which means we’ve got pretty much everything covered!
Our extensive product range
Our external self-tapping thread forms are unique to our blind and through tapped insert range. We’ve invested in tooling specifically made for us, so consistency in function and appearance is guaranteed.
Our blind form inserts (IBS range) are ideal for marine use or in any applications where a waterproof fit is required and water ingression along the internal thread could be an issue.
Through tapped form (ITS range) are ideal for applications where there is clearance behind the insert, so bolt length is not critical.
Our insert range has been carefully designed to fit flush when installed, with the addition of an undercut and countersunk head.
Features of our self-tapping inserts
- Suitable for use in wood, composites, plastics and some soft metals.
- Can be screwed into a pre-drilled hole or bonded/ moulded into place.
- Supplied in regular or heavy-duty form with a coarse self-tapping thread, larger external diameter, longer length and V shaped flutes at 120-degree intervals for additional grip when bonded.
- Available in a range of internal threads, metric and imperial. Can be made to specific customer requirements.
- We also manufacture the more generic slotted style self-tapping inserts with finer external threads, more suited to use in metals and harder materials.
Also known as thread reducing inserts (ITR). These inserts are similar in form to our IBS/ ITS inserts but feature standard metric or imperial internal and external threads in any combination or length required, both blind ended and through tapped.
We also produce an unheaded range, which allows you to screw the insert as far in as you need to give a little more flexibility with the application.
Ideal as a solution to stripped or damaged threads where the damaged hole can be drilled and re-tapped. Also suited for use in materials which can be pre-tapped, or where a coarse self-cutting thread may not be appropriate, such as carbon fibre or hard brittle plastics which can crack and splinter.
They can also be used in soft metals such as aluminium where a small thread is required, but the inherent softness of the host material doesn’t offer the required strength.
We stock in stainless steel 316, and can supply in a wide variety of other materials.
Sometimes known as hinge pins, link pins or rigging pins. Commonly found in the marine, agriculture and automotive industries manufactured in 316/ 303 stainless to DIN and ISO standards. We can supply in a range of materials, made to order.
Available headed with a cross drilled hole for an R-clip or split pin or grooved for a circlip. Also available headless or cross drilled at either end.
Steel dowel pins are used in a wide range of precision engineering applications to provide accurate location and alignment.
Our standard dowels have chamfered or radiused ends to enable insertion and to guide positioning:
- ISO 2338
- BS 1804
- DIN 6325
- DIN 7
Custom Dowel Pins
Of course, sometimes ‘standard’ just won’t cut it, and something more bespoke is required. We offer a non-standard dowel pin service to accommodate any bespoke requirements you may have.
Available in a range of materials including marine grade stainless steel 316 (A4) /303/mild steel and silver steel.
These are dowel pins with an internal thread to enable extraction of the pin after installation.
We can easily manufacture these pins with an air or oil release flat along the length. Made to the diameter tolerance requested or to ISO8735 standard.
Available in stainless steel 316/303 or mild steel to DIN 1B or DIN 1A standards.
Manufactured with a 1:50 taper along the length and radiused ends. Our taper pins can also be manufactured with imperial 1:48 tapers, or fully customised to your specifications
Manufactured as per a regular taper pin but with either a male (DIN 7977) or female (DIN 7978) thread for extraction after installation.
We also make taper pins to specific non-standard requirements.
Available as a ‘made to order’ item in any material, length, or internal and external diameter to customer requirements.
Can be supplied either internally threaded or clearance sized.
